Moon Hong Hoo joined StormHarbour in May 2011 as the Managing Director, Korea Origination, from BNP Paribas Hong Kong, where he was a Managing Director and Head of the Financial Institutions Group, Korea. Moon joined BNP Paribas in 2007 and was responsible for coverage of Korean banks, insurance companies, asset managers, securities companies, pension funds, the Korean central bank and other public financial institutions. His product coverage included capital raisings, structured and alternative investment opportunities, among others, as well as fixed income and equity derivatives. Prior to BNP Paribas, Moon worked at Bank of America, Seoul, in 2004 as a Senior Investment Banker and Head of the Financial Institutions Group, Korea. Before that he was at Bank One, N.A. Seoul as a Managing Director and Country Treasurer in charge of trading and sales. Moon’s career started with Korea Exchange Bank, where he mostly worked in the Dealing Room of the International Treasury Division of the bank.
Moon holds a MBA degree from the Wharton Business School of the University of Pennsylvania and is a graduate of Seoul National University with a B.A. in Economics.
